At TRAVEL & PLANT, we want to bring people together through travel and at the same time link active protection of the environment and the climate with social engagement.
In addition to the compensation of CO2 and the production of oxygen and water, forests provide a habitat for many species of animals and plants. Forests give us shade, promote precipitation and provide a pleasant coolness. Forests are essential for our own survival as a species.
Millions of people cultivate their feels in the shade provided by trees. Without the protection of trees, crops would be exposed to the wind and in some places could not develop properly due to excessively high temperatures and a lack of moisture. In Africa, for example, one speaks of “fertilizer trees” (Faidherbia albida); when their the leaves and fruits fall to the ground they improve the soil quality and harvest yields on a sustainable basis.
Forests act as a kind of lifesaver, improving the micro- and macro-climate, raising the ground water level and helping people around the world to develop their futures.
